I just love this time of year with more hours of sunlight, birds chirping me awake in the morning and the excitement of high school seniors as they prepare for their upcoming graduation.

After 12 years of hard work, high school seniors make their way to the podium to accept their diplomas.
This year’s class motto, “Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you’re riding through the ruts, don’t complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don’t bury your thoughts; put your vision to reality. Wake up and live!”  by Bob Marley is inspiring to say the least.

As high school seniors begin their journey into the real world, my hope is that they heed the words of Mr. Marley.
Don’t worry about what everyone else has or does; jealousy will get you nowhere—fast. Hate too is an emotion not worth entertaining. If we fill our minds and thoughts with hatred, we will certainly amount to nothing. Loving others for their differences and embracing all that life has to offer will surely make us happier and stronger people.
The visions of the young are what make this country the amazing place that it is.

New technology, ideas and business from young minds will keep our country moving ahead, as it has for the last 200 plus years.

Most of the fresh, new ideas come from young minds, think Facebook, Microsoft and Apple, just to name a few.
As seniors decide where they will go from here, whether it’s on to a tech school, community college or a university far from home, my hope is that they won’t forget where they came from. A simple, small town where everybody knows everybody and where your neighbors truly care about what happens to you.

Remember your past, live for the present and continue on a road to success to ensure a future bright with happiness and success.
Congratulations seniors! The world is truly your oyster. Go out and enjoy every bite!
